Facial Coverings Required Indoors on Campus

Date Posted:

From President Kolison:

Unfortunately, COVID-19 infection rates are on the rise in many areas again, driven primarily by the highly contagious Delta variant. Therefore, effective Monday, August 16, face coverings will be required for everyone, regardless of vaccination status, in all indoor spaces on campus. The only exceptions will be in personal living spaces, individual workspaces, and during indoor eating and drinking. This requirement pertains to students, faculty, staff, and all visitors to campus. We will reevaluate this requirement by September 16, 2021.

We feel this proactive approach will minimize the potential for the transmission of the virus across campus and aid us in achieving our goal of having full in-person academic and extracurricular activities at SUNY Fredonia this fall and beyond.

Of course, the best way to keep that goal, and potentially remove this indoor facial covering requirement, is for everyone on campus to be vaccinated.

The complete Fall, 2021 COVID-19 Guidance is updated and available to review. I encourage you to read it over carefully.

Thank you for your support in this effort.  I appreciate your understanding and kind cooperation.

Very truly yours,

Dr. K
Stephen H. Kolison, Jr., Ph.D.
President and Professor
