Fredonia Email (Google Workspace) Login Change

Date Posted:

On Saturday, June 5th, 2021 between 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. we will be modifying the way you log in to Fredonia Email (Google Workspace, formerly GSuite or Google Apps). This change will allow you to authenticate from off-campus in the event that the campus network is unavailable for any reason in the future. This business continuity measure is part of a SUNY-wide effort to improve campuses’ resiliency to provide highly available and secure services for the community. During the time of this change, there may be a brief period when you will not be able to log in however, any applications you have already logged on to will continue to function normally.

After the change is completed, you will need to use your eServices credentials using the username@fredonia.edu format to login into the new Sign-in screen which will look like the image below:

The eServices username is what you use to log into other campus services such as the wired and wireless network; however, you will need to add @fredonia.edu (e.g. smithj@fredonia.edu).

Please note that until we have moved all the University’s cloud-hosted applications to this new authentication method, after logging into Google you will no longer be logged on automatically to other services that use the current Single Sign On (i.e. OnCourse, SUNY Employee Portal) method. You will be required to log in separately into the first of these other applications, after that you will be logged on automatically to any other application opened in the same browser.

If you have any questions, please contact the ITS Service Center at x3407 or via ITS.ServiceCenter@fredonia.edu for assistance.

Thank you,
