More information

Fitness center blocks are 40 minutes long so the staff can sanitize the facility for the remaining 20 minutes. Dods Gymnasium blocks are 60 minutes long, and Tennis Court blocks are 90 minutes long. Students can reserve one block in each facility each day. Failure to show up for three blocks in any facility will result in a loss of pre-registration privileges.

Registration opens one week in advance of each time slot.

You can use Dods Gymnasium before the Fitness Center, just be sure you have two separate reservations, one in each calendar.

Masks will need to be worn at all times in the Fitness Center, Dods Gym, and Tennis Courts, even when exercising. In particular, no bandanas or gaiters will be allowed in the fitness center. A face shield can be worn in the fitness center if a student is unable to wear a mask.

No drinking fountains be available; only water bottle refill stations will be available in the facilities, so please bring a water bottle with you.

Upon entering the fitness center you’ll notice several changes: every second piece of cardio equipment is blocked off to promote social distancing; upper-level cardio equipment is shut down with the exception of ellipticals, which are turned around; dumbbell benches are spaced out; the rock wall area is being used as additional space; and floor markers offer reminders to maintain social distance.

Only paper towels will be available to sanitize equipment. Please bring your own sweat towel.

Tennis Courts

All students intending to play tennis must complete wellness and temperature checks at the fitness center desk. Leave your FREDCard with a fitness center desk attendant and she will give you the tennis courts key.

At this time the outdoor basketball courts will not be available, but we will assess the use of Dods Gym to inform this decision moving forward.
