A discussion led by two Department of Communication faculty members that explores the media and presidential campaigns, the opportunity to become a poll worker and a post-election wrap-up conversation are three ways students can become engaged in the general election process through the campus’ American Democracy Project (ADP).

“Fredonia Faces,” a unique digital art project hosted by Tau Sigma, the national honor society for transfer students, a two-part virtual workshop put on by the Career Development Office (CDO) and a re-energized Transfer Student Organization at Fredonia will mark the campus’ inaugural observance of National Transfer Student Week from Oct. 19 to 23.

The School of Music and the Office of Admissions will host information sessions for prospective undergraduate and graduate piano students and their families on Sunday, Nov. 15.

Applications are being accepted from students within Fredonia as well as prospective students looking to transfer from other universities or community colleges who are interested in enrolling in the B.F.A. Dance or B.F.A. Theatrical Production and Design programs.

A virtual faculty recital featuring two members of the Fredonia School of Music will be livestreamed on Sunday, Oct. 25, at 2 p.m.

More students than ever are being tested for COVID-19 at Fredonia, but the number of positive cases is not increasing. In fact, it’s not even budging. There were no positives among 375 students tested on Friday, Oct. 9, the most recent testing day.

The College Student Personnel Association of New York State has announced the recipients of its 2020 awards, which recognize outstanding student affairs practitioners and scholars in New York State.

Professor Christian Bernhard of the School of Music has written a book, “Managing Stress in Music Education: Routes to Wellness and Vitality,” published this month by Routledge Focus.

Department of Geology and Environmental Sciences Assistant Professor Matthew Purtill, along with ‘20 graduate Gillian Tytka, will give a virtual presentation at the annual meeting of the Geological Society of America on Thursday, Oct. 29.
